Noah Christian, born in Wolfsburg, Germany, and raised in an Italian-Spanish family, moved to Spain at 18 to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion designer. Based in La Coruña, he trained in fashion design, pattern making, and Moulage techniques. In 2017, after graduating from Goymar Galicia, he founded his brand to showcase his passion for fashion and Japanese craftsmanship.
When and where did you first begin?
Began my career after graduating from the Superior Fashion Design School Goymar in 2017. With a backgroundshaped by my upbringing in a multicultural Italian-Spanish family and my training in fashion design, pattern making, Moulage techniques, and sewing, I launched my own brand at a young age. Born in Wolfsburg, Germany, I later moved to my second homeland La Coruña, Spain, where I established my first studio. My journey reflects my deep passion for fashion and admiration for Japanese craftsmanship. Currently, I reside in Madrid, where I have expanded my presence with a showroom, continuing to innovate and create within the fashion industry.
Where does your design inspiration come from?
The inspiration for our #NCuniverse comes from Japanese martial arts and astronomy, as interpreted through my vision. My brand seeks to unify avant-garde and ready-to-wear fashion while maintaining the uniqueness and quality of each garment.
Describe your brand in 3 words.
Inclusive, innovative, sustainable.
What is the most difficult aspect of running your own label?
The most difficult aspect is balancing creativity with business operations. While my passion is in design, I also need to focus on logistics, marketing, finances, and customer relations. Working with a PR agency helps manage our public image and marketing efforts, but ensuring the brand's commercial viability while staying true to our commitment to sustainability and quality remains a constant challenge. However, these difficulties drive me to continually learn and grow, making the journey rewarding.
Which part of the creative process do you enjoy most, and least?
The part of the creative process I enjoy most is the initial conceptualization and sketching phase. It's incredibly fulfilling to see ideas come to life on paper and envision how they will translate into garments that embody my vision and inspiration. I particularly relish the process of creating patterns using the moulage technique on a mannequin, as it allows me to sculpt and refine the fit and silhouette with a hands-on approach.
Conversely, the part I find most challenging is the final decision-making stage before production. Ensuring that every detail aligns with the collection's cohesive narrative while meeting practical considerations like cost and feasibility can be daunting. However, overcoming these challenges ultimately leads to the satisfaction of seeing a well-executed and cohesive collection come together. Additionally, I find great joy in sewing the garments myself, as it allows me to ensure that every piece meets my standards of craftsmanship and quality.

Do you have a mentor?
Yes, I am fortunate to have a wonderful mentor named Clara Courel, @madamecourel, my manager, press, and PR, who has been incredibly supportive of my journey as a fashion designer. Clara's guidance and expertise have been invaluable in navigating the challenges and opportunities in the industry. She provides insightful advice, helps me refine my creative vision, and encourages me to push boundaries in my designs. Her support has played a crucial role in shaping my career, and I am grateful for her mentorship.
How long did your latest collect on take to create?
My latest collection took approximately 5 months. This timeframe allowed for thorough planning, meticulous design development, and ensuring every detail met my brand's standards of quality and creativity.
What are your future plans?
In the future, I plan to expand my brand's presence globally while maintaining a focus on sustainable luxury. I will continue to innovate with new collections that blend my passion for fashion and Japanese craftsmanship.
Additionally, I intend to launch a sub-collection featuring more economical prices without compromising on quality. This initiative aims to make my designs accessible to a broader audience while upholding the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability.
Which pieces do you think everyone should have in their wardrobe?
Everyone should have versatile, high-quality garments that adapt to various routines and occasions. Essential pieces include well-crafted items in neutral colors for everyday wear, like our tailored Limited Edition Neptune trousers for work meetings, and a sophisticated Noah Christian dress for special events. The key is choosing combinable garments that offer flexibility and elegance, making them indispensable basics in any wardrobe. The absence of a logo represents the silent luxury that I consider fundamental in our current era.
