PEARL AND RUBIES

Supporting and complementing each other with their distinct talents and skills, the two sisters Caroline and Joy formed their label, Pearl and Rubies. In 2015. They bring together two different and vibrant characteristics into exquisite balance. Joy’s stone, the pearl, embodies sophistication and femininity and Caroline’s fiery and captivating stone, the ruby represents powerfulness and masculinity. Apart, they would be incomplete. Together, they are flawless.

Each Pearl and Rubies piece is a magical mix of sophistication and edge.

2 Sisters, 2 Forces, One Brand – Pearl and Rubies!

A combination of forces sophisticated and fiery, sisters Caroline and Joy let us in on their journey of perseverance.

When and where did you first begin?

We began with the idea of creating show-stopping leather pieces that you can wear over and over again 4 years ago in Beirut.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

The inspiration behind our collections comes from all around us; whether it is a song, a night out in this bustling city, or an afternoon in a café. It is next to impossible to live in Beirut and not consider this warrior city a muse with all its creative goodness and design a collection dedicated to real women; women of strength and women of determination.

3. Describe your brand in 3 words?

Edgy, Timeless and Sophisticated.

What is the most difficult aspect of running your own label?

The most difficult part of running your own fashion label is that you have to constantly stay on top of things and be bold and brazen while still getting inspiration from what’s around you and regularly innovating.

Which part of the creative process do you enjoy most, and least?

Since we are 2 sisters working side to side, we each enjoy a different part of the creative process. As the designer, Caroline enjoys the artistic part of the creative process; coming up with a thought, exploring it and then finally visualizing it. Joy enjoys the more technical part of the creative process as in putting the idea in a three-dimensional form that represents it. The type of stitching, the colour of the garment, the appeal to it and the final details all have to tell the story we are trying to convey in the collection.

How long did your latest collection take to create?

Our latest collection took around 12 weeks to create from the sketch to the pattern and finally the development of the pieces.

What are your future plans?

We are looking to expand and reach more market segments. We learn from each and every collection we create in terms of what women want, what they are looking for and what makes them feel great.

Which pieces do you think everyone should have in their wardrobe?

A classic piece with a twist is a must-have in every woman’s closet. This is why we strive to create timeless yet statement-making pieces that you can wear on every occasion and over and over again.
